Chadwick Lawrence Pledges Support for Gain Kirklees

Huddersfield law firm Chadwick Lawrence is throwing its weight behind a community campaign to make Kirklees greener.

The law firm has announced its partnership with Gain Kirklees, a scheme that works with businesses to reduce their environmental impact and help the local community to do the same.

Daniel Krigers of Chadwick Lawrence said: “Sustainability is already important to us as a business and Gain Kirklees will help us put it right at the heart of our business plan and challenges us to do even more.

“We are looking forward to working with Core Facility Services through Gain to develop a robust strategy which will reduce our impact on the environment, generate bottom line savings for our business, inspire our staff and give something back to the Kirklees community,” he added.

Gareth Henderson, who launched Gain in partnership with One Community and the John Smith’s Stadium said he was delighted to welcome Chadwick Lawrence to the scheme.

“Becoming more sustainable is something many businesses want to do but it isn’t easy, which is where Gain comes in to offer practical help and support,” explained Gareth.

“By securing real commitment from organisations to set targets and work towards them, we can generate positive change in Kirklees.

“Every business is already buying energy and waste and using Gain for these services means they can make savings themselves and generate cash for grants towards green projects in the community.”

The grant scheme will be open to individuals and community groups to fund sustainability projects in Kirklees. It will be administered by One Community.

Gareth explained that Gain Kirklees had been launched in response to the climate emergency to improve sustainability at a local level.

“Real action is needed to tackle the climate crisis and we can only achieve that by making sure businesses are working together and involving local groups, schools, charities and other organisations to make change happen,” he said.

An information event for businesses will be held on Thursday 13th February at the John Smith’s Stadium. To sign up or find out more about Gain Kirklees call 01422 880180.
